How to make Rasam Powder

Rasam Powder can be used to , of course, make the Rasam. Click on How To Make Mysuru Tomato Rasam to make the rasam. It can also be used to make a host of other dishes.  In this post we will learn How To Make Rasam Powder at home. This Rasam powder will taste better than any other Rasam powder that you get in stores.


Ingredients

Coriander seeds (Dhaniya)    - 1 cup                             

Kashmiri chillies                      - 3/4th cup

Red chillies                              - 1/4 cup

Methi seeds                            - 1 tbsp

Cumin seeds                           - 1 tbsp

Mustard seeds                         - 1 tbsp

Black pepper                           - 1/2 tbsp

Curry leaves                            - 8 strands




Procedure:


All the ingridients should be roasted separately.

1. Coriander seeds : On medium flame, dry roast coriander seeds until it gives a slight aroma.

2. Methi seeds : On medium flame, dry roast until colour changes slightly.

3. Mustard seed : On medium flame until they crackle.

4. Black pepper : Roast the pepper with a little oil until they splutter on medium flame.

5. Red chillies : Break them into small pieces and add a little bit of oil. Roast until the seeds become                             lightly brown in colour.

6, Kashmiri chillies: Break them into small pieces and add a little bit of oil. Roast until the seeds                                          become lightly brown in colour.

7. Curry leaves : Dry roasted until they become crisp.


Mix all the ingridrients and let it cool.

After it cools, powder everything together.

Your Rasam Powder is ready!

Store it in an air tight container for a long time.
